Mytholmroyd
Mytholmroyd is a small village between Cragg Vale and Hebden Bridge. There is an active and innovative business community set amongst beautiful picturesque hills. Historically, Mytholmroyd was the home of David Hartley, or King David - the leader of The Cragg Coiners. Culturally, it was also the birthplace of the late poet laureate Ted Hughes who died in 1998. His first wife Sylvia Plath is buried in nearby Heptonstall. Regular Ted Hughes events take place in Mytholmroyd. The canal which runs through Mytholmroyd is particularly picturesque, and it is a very pleasant walk to either Hebden Bridge or Sowerby Bridge.
Haworth
Haworth is situated at the edge of the Pennine moors, and has been made famous by the Bronte sisters. It is now a major tourist attraction with the Bronte Parsonage Museum and many gift shops and cafes.
